Silaty Portal for iOS (Apple App Store)
Last Updated: August 24, 2026
Welcome to Silaty Portal, a school communication application designed for authorized school staff and administrators. The application helps schools communicate with parents and share school-related information, including homework, resources, announcements, feedback, and other educational content.
This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the iOS version of Silaty Portal distributed through the Apple App Store, including use on iPhone and iPad. It explains what information may be collected, how it is used, how it is protected, and how it is shared when you use the iOS application. A separate privacy policy is published for the Android version of the application.
Silaty Portal is intended for authorized users associated with participating schools, including school staff, teachers, administrators, and other authorized personnel. The application may communicate with the corresponding parent application and school system to deliver school information and communication.
Accounts are created and managed by the participating school. The application is not intended for public self-registration.
The application may process school-related content created or uploaded by authorized staff or administrators, such as:
We do not collect the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), device location, contacts, calendars, HealthKit or HomeKit data, microphone audio, or Apple Account details. The application contains no advertising and no third-party advertising or analytics tracking SDKs.
Information processed through Silaty Portal is used to provide and maintain the school's communication services. This includes:
Information is not used for advertising, profiling, or cross-application tracking purposes.
The iOS application requests access to device capabilities
only when a related feature is used, and always through the
standard iOS permission prompt. Each request has a purpose
string declared in the application's Info.plist.
| iOS Capability | Info.plist Key | Why It Is Used |
|---|---|---|
| Notifications | UNUserNotificationCenter authorization |
Display alerts about homework, resources, announcements, feedback, and chat messages. |
| Photo Library | NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription |
Only when the user chooses an existing image to attach to school content, a chat message, or a profile photo. |
| Camera | NSCameraUsageDescription |
Only if the user chooses to capture a new photo for an attachment or profile photo. |
| Saving to Photos (optional) | NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription |
Only if the user chooses to save a received image or document to the device. |
| Files and Documents | Document picker (no permission prompt) | Only when the user selects a permitted document to attach. Access is limited to the selected file. |
| Background App Refresh | Background modes (remote notification) | Where used, retrieve new school content or messages so notifications remain current. |
Photo, camera, and file access is used only at the moment the user actively selects or captures a file. Where iOS offers Limited Photos Access, only the photos the user selects are made available to the application. The application does not scan, index, or upload the photo library in the background.
Permissions can be reviewed or changed at any time in Settings → Silaty Portal or under Settings → Privacy & Security. Declining a permission may disable the related feature but does not otherwise prevent use of the application.
Silaty Portal does not track users as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. The application does not access the IDFA, does not link user or device data with data from third parties for advertising or measurement, and does not share data with data brokers.
For this reason, the application does not present the "Allow app to track your activity" prompt.
Silaty Portal uses push notifications to inform users when school-related content or communications are available. Notifications may be triggered when an administrator or authorized staff member publishes homework, resources, announcements, feedback, or sends a chat message.
Notifications on iOS are delivered through the Apple Push Notification service (APNs), which may be used together with Firebase Cloud Messaging as the sending service. To enable delivery, the application registers a device notification token. Notification behavior can be controlled at any time in Settings → Notifications → Silaty Portal, including alert style, Lock Screen previews, badges, and sounds.
Silaty Portal provides a chat facility for communication between authorized school users and parents. Messages may contain text and permitted attachments such as images or documents.
Chat content and attachments are processed only to provide the communication service, maintain conversation history, deliver messages, and support the school's legitimate administrative purposes.
Users may use the application's password reset or password change functionality. Authentication information is used only to verify the user's account and maintain secure access to the application.
On iOS, session and authentication tokens are stored using the iOS Keychain and the application's sandboxed storage, which are protected by the operating system and are not accessible to other applications. Where enabled, Face ID or Touch ID may be used to unlock the application; biometric data never leaves the device and is never accessible to the application or to us. Users should keep their login credentials confidential and should not share passwords with other persons.
The iOS application uses a limited number of third-party services that support application functionality, hosting, notifications, storage, security, or diagnostics.
APNs is used by iOS to deliver notifications to the device. Apple processes the device token and notification routing information necessary to deliver notifications.
Where used, Firebase Cloud Messaging sends notifications to APNs for delivery to iOS devices. Firebase may process device and technical information, including the notification token, as necessary to provide the notification service.
More information about Google's privacy practices is available in Google's Privacy Policy .
The application is distributed through the Apple App Store, and pre-release builds may be distributed through TestFlight. Apple may collect installation, update, and crash information independently of the application in accordance with its own policies, described in the Apple Privacy Policy .
The following summary reflects the App Privacy details declared for this application on the App Store.

Data is used for app functionality and account management only. No data is used for third-party advertising or developer marketing, and no data is used to track users across apps or websites.
We do not sell users' personal information. Information is shared only as necessary to operate the school communication service.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through the application. Data transmitted between the application and supported servers uses secure communication over HTTPS/TLS, consistent with iOS App Transport Security requirements.
Application data stored on the device is kept in the iOS application sandbox, with credentials stored in the Keychain and protected by the device passcode and hardware encryption. Access to school information and communication features is restricted to authorized users based on the school's access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the school service, maintain communication records, meet school administrative requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, or comply with applicable legal obligations.
The applicable school may determine retention requirements for school records and user accounts. Requests relating to school records or account deletion may need to be directed to the relevant school or authorized administrator.
Depending on applicable law and the school's policies, users may have rights regarding their personal information, including requesting access, correction, or deletion of information.
For school-managed account information, users may need to contact their school administrator.
In accordance with App Store requirements, users who can create or hold an account in the application may request deletion of that account and its associated personal information.
Deletion can be requested from within the application where the option is available, by emailing info@orisonsoftware.com from the address registered with the school, or by contacting the school administrator. Because accounts are created and controlled by the participating school, deletion requests are verified with the school before being processed. Certain school records may be retained where required by the school's policies or by applicable law. Deleting the application removes locally stored data from the device but does not by itself delete a school-managed account.
Silaty Portal is intended for authorized school staff, administrators, and other authorized adult users. It is not part of the App Store Kids Category, is not directed to children, and is not intended to be used independently by children to create accounts.
School-related information concerning students may be processed as part of the school's communication and educational services. Such information is handled according to the school's policies and applicable privacy laws.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the application, our services, or applicable legal requirements. When material changes are made, the updated policy will be published on this page and the "Last Updated" date will be revised.
